Kurt
Kurt (one of the owners) is our ultimate “bit of everything” guy - chaff cutter, hay baler, truck driver and, somehow, our very own interior designer! A total perfectionist who won’t stop until everything is done properly, he’s the reason our shop and trade stands always look absolutely incredible.He’s always on his phone, but actually getting him to answer it? Good luck He’s usually far too busy doing something else, coming up with his next bright idea, or adding yet another piece of machinery to his ever-growing collection. He has a slightly unhealthy addiction for collecting diggers, bulldozers, tractors and trucks When he’s not working for Highfields, he’s usually busy mustering sheep, shifting stock or somehow finding another excuse to end up at the sale yards…. He can turn his hand to just about anything, especially when there’s a cold beer waiting at the end of it 🍻
Elly
Elly (the other owner) is the reason products mysteriously disappear from the shop floor…. She conveniently appears the second anything new arrives, with a very convincing explanation for why it should be hers She’s also notoriously hard to get hold of, which is probably because she’s busy chasing around two young kids, managing five horses as well as running the farm along side Kurt. You may not always see her but she is always busy behind the scenes She has been in the saddle since she was 8, with Eventing and Show Hunter being her main focus, she has dabbled in a bit of everything. These days, though, you’re more likely to find her shifting stock than chasing titles. Elly thinks she can multitask but the evidence suggests otherwise… five jobs started, three new ideas added, two kids demanding attention, the shopping list somehow involved, and approximately zero things actually finished. We are still trying to figure out how she got her degree…

About Highfields Farm
We are Elly and Kurt - by qualification we are a Chemical Process Engineer and a Diesel Mechanic/Heavy Automotive Engineer 
However, we both have an underlying passion for animals and the world of agriculture.
We 50/50 share milk as the 6th generation on the Vickery family farm in Tikorangi, Taranaki. We run a diverse operation, split calving 400 cows, with 100% of our calves reared to stock our dry stock blocks. With over 1600 acres of dairy, beef and cropping land, 1100 cattle and 4 fussy horses we understand the importance of quality feed. After running around after our 9 month old son, Thomas, we somehow find time to run our feed business too (we couldn't do what we do without our fab team of staff and family!).
We take great pride in bringing high quality stock feed solutions to Taranaki and the wider North Island - we hope you all love our hay, baleage, chaff and horse feed products as much as we do!
